The youngest son of Bruce Springsteen became a Jersey City, NJ, firefighter in a ceremony Tuesday.
Mayor Steven Fulop swore in Sam Springsteen, 26, and 14 other firefighters at City Hall, WABC-TV reports. The event was attended by Springsteen's mom, Patti Scialfa, and his famous dad, who was quick to deflect attention away from himself.

"This is my son's day, so I'm staying out of it," Bruce Springsteen told WABC. "We're very proud. We're very proud. … It was a long road. He was very dedicated for quite a few years, and we're just excited for him today."
Sam Springsteen, however, was reluctant to grab any glory.
"Sorry, folks. I don't have too much to say," he said.
Springsteen graduated from the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 2014 and had been a part of the all-volunteer Colts Neck Fire Department. He had taken the civil service exam in 2018, according to NJ.com.
Springsteen's mother had congratulated him on becoming a Jersey City firefighter in an August Instagram post.
